Birthday Trip to Palm Springs
Saturday was my 31st birthday so I left Seattle for some sun!
Palm Springs is one of my favorite places to visit so I usually make it a yearly trip for my birthday, celebrate me in my favorite city!
My boyfriend and I flew to Palm Springs for the week, Monday through Saturday only to arrive and find there to be no sun. When we got there it started pouring rain, so it felt just like home, and it continued throughout out the week. It was also super windy but we made the best of it.
Even though there was not much sun, we had amazing food! We went to a couple favorite restaurants and a couple restaurants that are new to us. We tried Trio and some great pork belly fried rice and cheddar biscuits to start, I had seared ahi and He had a burger for our mains! We also went to the Barbara Bar on Thursday which is part of the Trixie Motel. The vibes are super cool, lots of pink and fits in with the vintage Palm Springs nature.
Sandfish is a favorite fo sushi. We always get the Sandfish Roll which has spicy tuna and fried potato threads, we tried the Lollipop Roll which came on a skewer, just like a lollipop surround but cucumber and had a virility of fish in the middle.
A trip to Palm Springs can be done with or without a rental car but having one certainly makes it easier to get around. Walking is also really easy if you like other walk or are staying right downtown. We stayed in the movie colony neighborhood which is a little north of downtown. We like to get out an explore or we did lots of driving. We also went on walks in different parts on the city to a car helped to get there.
We stayed at Descanso Resort, a Mens Resort. Its an adults only resort, just beyond downtown. The property is fun, bright green and mid-century modern. The pool is heated and spa is always steaming hot. The rooms are spacious and have comfy beds.
The trip finished off with the last day spent relaxing at the pool trying to enjoy with sunshine we could. Looking forward to be back there next year.
